Another great week of instruction! I am thrilled
to learn the "trick" with alpha channels and tif's in MS Office products.
I do PowerPoint presentations all the time and I absolutely hated trying
to blend the background of an image in with the slide background. This
lesson will save me LOADS of time on my presentation creation and will
make them look even more professional. Thanks! |

I've played with splitting images into their RGB channels before, but
never really tried anything "artistic". Here's a picture of two fish
in my saltwater aquarium.

After splitting out the RGB channels, all I did was recombine them, except
that I switched the green and blue channels. Voila! I have a fish of
my favorite color - purple!

Here's another one of my Las Vegas vacation pictures - a typical "tourist"
photo. Thanks to PSP, however, I can turn it into something a bit
more artistic.

I split the image into its Red Green and Blue channel. Then, on the
red channel I applied a colored pencil effect at the following settings:

To let the instructors know what I think of them and the great lessons, I
created this using the alpha channel. The effect on the text is Eye
Candy 3's chrome using the metallic preset. I then added an inner bevel to
it.
