This was a great week for me and also lots of fun. The lesson on
colorizing was awesome! If you're my age, you have LOTS of black and white
photos. While I've attempted to color them in the past, I never knew the
"secret" to making them come out so nice. Thanks so much for this lesson!

Here I am. This picture of me was taken in 1963. Ron, seems my
parents liked taking photos of us in our underwear as well - I have a ton
of these, <gr>. My father was something of an amateur photographer, and I,
as the first born, was often the subject.

Here is the colored version. I sent it to my father after it was done. He
was thrilled!

Ok, now for the toughie. This is a picture taken in 1941 of my
husband and his older brother. As you can imagine, the picture
itself is in pretty bad shape. I scanned it in and cleaned it up the best
I could.

Ok, here it is in color. I found out that if the color you want to
use is too close to white, or too close to dark, setting the layer blend
as color doesn't always work. For example, in the right baby's clothes,
the turquoise on color blend mode gave me larger "washed out" patches of
white. I set left it as normal and just reduced the opacity to 37.
On the left child, I used overlay for blend on the pants, which worked
better than color, which made the clothes too patchy.
