Boy, I hate to see this class end! This was sure a lot of fun. I had fun
with this week as well, though I didn't get to spend as much time as I
would have liked with this. I haven't taken many black and white photos,
I must admit. My father, who got me interested in photography, only ever
shot in black and white. |
Eggs
This was a fun exercise. In the first image, the picture is
taken only with natural light. The second picture includes a 60w
fluorescent light shining down from the top. In the third picture, the
angle was changed slightly and sunlight from a side door was added. I
can see the differences in all three pictures in the shadows that show
up, which either adds to, or detracts from the sense of depth in the
image. I like the one with the top light added the best. |

Corn
The corn is coming in now in our area. I hate seeing that because it
means winter is fast approaching. I thought the corn silks would make
interesting pictures with regards to texture. The first picture is with
only what's left of the late afternoon sunlight (you can see some camera
shake - I should have used a tripod). The second added the flash - you
can really see how this helped bring out the textures. In the third, I
shot "up" into what was left of the sun, no flash. Kind of an
interesting picture, but I was really looking for a silhouette. I wish I
had gotten just a bit lower, but a bit more pointed up, to show more of
the sun and less of the bottom parts of the stalks. |
